Biography
Kendy Mendez-Flores started her educational journey at the University of California Los Angeles where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She then attended the University of Redlands to earn her Master of Arts in Education: School Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.
In the time between completing her BA and starting her MAEd, Kendy worked in education. For a few years, she facilitated behavioral intervention groups for at-risk youth and taught at various high schools in the Inland Empire. During that time, she realized that providing students with personal, academic and career counseling was her passion. However, she did not pursue her MAEd until after an opportunity to work at a community college presented itself. It was while working at the community college that she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a counselor and teaching in higher education.
Currently, Kendy is an adjunct career counselor at Chaffey College and an adjunct career pathways and development professor at California University of Science and Medicine. She enjoys exploring biomedical career pathways with our MBS students and is thrilled that she gets to use her passion of career counseling to assist our students in preparing for their careers.
